Paramount just announced the elevation of Hezron Karanja to Vice President of Finance in their Digital Media division of Television. Paramount Pictures Corporation is an American film studio, television production company and motion picture distributor, consistently ranked as one of the “Big Six” film studios of Hollywood.
Karanja –who lives in Los Angeles- has been with Paramount Pictures since 2007 starting as a Sr. Financial Analyst, he worked his way to Finance Manager thereafter. From 2012 to 2014, he took a sabbatical to attend Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and on return, he was appointed Director of Finance for Television. In the fall of 2016, he will be in a fast track Executive MBA program at Chapman University in California with a focus on Global Financial Management.
Mr. Karanja has been in the entertainment industry since 2001. He is a former Sr. Staff Accountant at Universal Studios and a Staff Accountant at 20th Century Fox. He was also an Assistant Controller at the Bank of New York Capital Investment (now BNY Mellon) in Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, he had a brief stint at State Street Financial Corporation in Boston as well as the Clinton Foundation.
Mr. Karanja immigrated to the US in 1997.
